- Da Vinci's works (pg 109 and 119)

If you have already done the "Look, learn and experiment" activity on Leonardo, then you will already know that he was a great engineer. Do an online search for information about him.
1. Start your word processor and create a new blank document.
 2. Write the names of five inventions attributed to Leonardo.
Diving suit, Parachute, Machine gun, Helicopter and Ornithopter.
3. Answer the followings questions:

 a. What invention was Leonardo most fascinated with?
The invenion was Leonardo most fascinated with is the flying machine.

b. How did Leonardo write his notes?
Leonardo write his notes with the mirror writing.

  c. Were all of Leonardo's inventions made?
I think the inventions were made in the place he worked .

d. Which of his inventions do you think is the most interesting? Why? I thing is the most insteresting is  the parachute, because without parachute when a fly plane and it´s fall you will  die.

    3. Define these concepts :
  1.    The power source is acomponent that supplies electrical energy to the rest of the circuit(batteries)
  2. The conductor is component that transports the electrical energy from teh power source to the load devices (cables) .
  3. The looad device in a com`ponent that recives the electrical energy from the power source and converts it to other types of useful energy (leds or resistances).

  4. List all  the control and proteccion  devices that you can think of and of and explain what they do:
  1. One-way switch:open or close the circuit when they are actuated
  2. Push switch:they open or close the circuit, but only while we keep them pressed.
  3. Two-way switch:they open and close one or more circuits. They can also open some circuits and close other ones.
  4. Limit switch:it functions as a switch that toggles between two positions when it is operated by a lever.

      5. Which materials are used to make an electric wire (in side out)?  :
  1.  Out is made o plastic an i😈nside is made of copper.
   6. We know thata the circuit in figure below is the equivalent to a circuit of two identical resistors connected in series, that the cell is 9V and that thar current flowing through the circuit is 0.3 mA:

         a. Calculate the value of the equivalent resistor.
         b. Calculate the value of resistors in the initial circuit
         c. Draw the initial circuit

   7. Study the following 2 circuits. If lamp 1 blows in each circuit, how would this affect their operation?

ELECTRIC CIRCUIT REPORT:

Last day we made an electric circuit , which was a Project made up by groups : Alejandro Fernández, Felipe Moreno and I.
This Project was about making an electric circuit, and understanding how to do it on your own.

PROTOBOARD:  It is a material that permit us to interconect  electronics   elements, resistances,esmiconductor...

3. When a person  sits on a chair, the stress that the chair has to withstand is due to the weight of the person, whereas the strength is the chair's ability to withstand the load without breaking. Indicate which is the strength and which is the stress in these two examples:

    A) A wardrobe hanting from a rope: Bending.

    B) A twisting telephone cord: Torsion.

6. Describe the structure of a turtle's shell. Why do you think it has this shape? What material do you think it is made from? Is it strong enough for the stresses it has to withstand?

The shell it's like an oval.
I thing that it is made of  a type of bone, an external eskeleton.
Yes I think it is cuse it has to withstand the turtle body.

7. Which types of stress do the following elements and activities have to support: 1) a rope with a weight hanting off it, 2) a man pushing a cabinet, 3) tightening a screw, 4) cutting our fingernails.

1) Bending

2) Compression

3) Tension

4) Shear

 9. Write s short description of three objects using one of the following adjectives for each object: rigid, elastic and plastic. Explain how these properties allow the objects to fulfil their function or make them suitable for yheir purpose.

Rigid: does not deform.

Elastic: deforms but then returns to its original shape.

Plastic: deforms and stays deformed.

Properties
Brick
Rigid
Plastic
Deformable
Rubber
Elastic
Plasticine
Plastic

12. Think about the following objects and state whether they are rigid, plastic or elastic: balloon, empty drinks can, window frame, clay, catapult, door.
Rigid: Door, Catapult.

Plastic: Balloon, Windows frame, Empty drinks can.

Elastic:  Balloon, Clay.
